The Best Crystals For Sleep

Colorful polished crystal towers on a white background with 'Reading + Resources' and 'Clarity Co.' text.
There is almost nothing worse than not being able to get consistent, healing, restorative sleep. We live in a world full of stimulation and stress, leading increasingly busy lives - and finding true rest can often feel out of reach.

We’ve all had those nights where our mind won’t switch off, our body feels restless, and suddenly it’s 2am and we’re rethinking every life decision we’ve ever made. If that sounds familiar — first of all, you’re not alone. In fact, there have been several times over the last few years where my husband and I have joked "we'll sleep when we're dead!" Secondly… it might be time to bring some crystal magic into your sleep routine.

Crystals have been used for centuries to support relaxation, emotional release, and energetic balance. Some are calming, some help release anxiety, others protect your energy while you drift off. Getting a good night's sleep as much as we can is such an important part of our overall holistic wellbeing. That’s where crystal support can become a beautiful, grounding addition to your bedtime routine - along with other forms of good sleep hygiene of course!

Tips + Ideas For Using Crystals For Better Sleep

Cleanse your crystals regularly

This is especially important if you’re using them for emotional release or protection. Read our blog post about how to cleanse your crystals here.

Set an intention

Hold your crystal before bed to connect tell it (and yourself) what you want - eg. “I am ready to rest deeply and wake up feeling refreshed and positive.”

Create a crystal grid

Craft a simple bedside grid using your favourite crystals (and anything else you feel drawn to using!). Read our blog on crystal grids by guest blogger Saskia (@witchypoo75 on Instagram) here.

Don’t overdo it

Sometimes less is more. Start with one or two crystals and see how you feel.

Switch off

I know, I know - bingeing on Netflix or doomscrolling insta is oh-so-tempting. I'm definitely guilty of finding myself still refreshing my social media at 11pm at night and wondering why I'm feeling so on edge and inadequate. But switching off an hour before bedtime is such an effective way to signal to your body that it's almost night night time. I've now set my phone so that it automatically goes into "sleep mode" at 9pm, which is my reminder to put it down.

Stretch

My husband and I have started a 30 day stretch challenge, which we do either first thing in the morning, or last thing at night. It's a compromise, because I am not a morning person, and after he's up working at 5am, by night time he's often starting to nod off on the couch. So we're holding each other accountable - but the important thing is, regularly stretching (whenever it happens during the day) has definitely had a positive impact on our restlessness and quality of sleep.

Journal

Get it out of your head and onto paper - whether it's worries you're holding onto, tomorrow's "To Do List", or even an exciting idea that you want to explore further. Get it written down so that you can hit the hay without carrying extra thoughts around in your head.

Rituals

Whether it's a simple skincare routine, brewing a cup of herbal tea, reading a book - or all of these! - having a wind-down ritual that you look forward to (yay, self care!) is a wonderful way to prepare your body and soul for the night.

Whether you choose one crystal or create a little group of "pillow pals" on your bedside table, the key is to make them part of your nightly routine. Your body and mind will start to associate the process - and the crystals' energy - with relaxation and rest.

Here’s to sweeter dreams and magic mornings!
